City woman trekking in Thai jungle

Thursday, 13 November 2008

A CITY woman is taking part in a 10-day trek in Thailand for charity.
Shauna Comiskey, 37, from Madden Road, is the daughter of Betty Comiskey, her father Seamus having died of cancer four and a half years ago.
Shauna, along with around 30 other participants, will take part in the expedition through the Thai jungle in February next year, to raise funds for Action Cancer.
Action Cancer, a leading charity in Northern Ireland, provides cancer prevention services, therapeutic support services and early detection services for sufferers.
“The fact that I am young, fit and healthy, enables me to do this and if it can help detect or prevent one person or family from having to cope with the trauma of this disease, then it will be worth every mile walked and mountain climbed," Shauna said.
Should anyone wish to contribute to Shauna's cause, cheques should be made payable to Action Cancer and contributions can be forwarded to her home address at 135 Madden Road, Armagh, BT60 3LQ.
