Take off for Air Ambulance

THE family of Lesley-Ann McCarragher have spoken of their delight at news the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance will have a doctor and paramedic on board when it takes to the skies later this year.
“We were delighted on Wednesday when we were informed that the Health Minister had approved Northern Ireland's first air ambulance," said Lesley-Ann's parents Liz and James.
“This confirms HEMS will provide a 12 hour, daylight, doctor led service supported by paramedics.
“We experience the heartache every day of losing a much-loved daughter and while Lesley-Ann received excellent on-scene and follow-up care, a service that can enhance this to provide a rapid air response, giving lifesaving treatment within that golden hour, anywhere in the province must be welcomed.
