TWO of the biggest sports stars in the world have confirmed they will support next month's NI Air Ambulance fundraiser in memory of Lesley-Ann Mc- Car ragher.

Boxing champ Carl Frampton and four-time golf Major winner, Rory McIlroy have both agreed to donate signed items for the auction which will take place as part of 'Lesley-Ann's Country Night' which will take place on Friday July 21 in a marquee in the grounds of Armagh Rugby Club. The main event will be headlined by country music star Cliona Hagan.

Frampton, known as The Jackal, is signing a pair of boxing gloves and McIlroy has also agreed to send some signed merchandise which will go under the hammer on the night.

Both sports stars immediately agreed to send some signed items after they were contacted by the Ulster Gazette.

"It shows the class of Carl and Rory that they immediately agreed to get involved when we got in touch to tell them about Lesley-Ann and why the McCarragher family is so committed to raising money for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance," said Gazette Editor, John Hooks.

"We reached out to their teams and the response was almost identical.

They said both stars would send some memorabilia for an auction as it is for such a worthy cause and because they were moved by Lesley-Ann's story." It promises to be an excellent night and another fantastic opportunity to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance.
