LOCAL lad Jason Black's first year rallying successes have continued through the summer with two Junior wins in two weeks and becoming Junior rally Champion for 2017.
Jason and his Navigator Jack McKenna who hails from Emyvale recently competed in the Ulster Rally and battled against the roads the elements and stiff competition on the prestigious event and won the Junior Section by a country mile!
Last weekend the pair were racing in Gort, Co Galway on the Galway Summer Stages Rally where the winning formula triumphed once again. Jason and Jack worked hard on the challenging stages on the Galway roads finishing 1st in Junior class by almost 3 minutes despite having no 4th gear for the second half of the rally!
The win means they now have amassed so many points from the championship rounds that they cannot be caught and are now Border Rally Champions for the Junior Section. This is an astounding result for the boys in their 1st year of rallying against much more experienced teams.
Jason and navigator Jack have proved to be a formidable partnership that certainly has the pace required and are a team to watch. They are looking forward to competing on a few more events this year. Follow them on YouTube Rallying and Facebook.
Jason and Jack would like to thank everyone involved for all their support and guidance during the events and in particular their sponsors; He'd like to thank the sponsors once again for all their suport
