Little May Rose passes away.

AN Armagh mother has been left devastated after her six-month-old baby daughter passed away just weeks after undergoing surgery.

Little May Rose Gibney was diagnosed before her birth with a very rare condition known as encephalocele - a form of Spina Bifida which affects the brain.

Since her daughter's birth in March this year, the local community rallied behind devoted mum Analee as she battled to do everything in her power for her darling May Rose.

May Rose recently underwent surgery in Oxfordshire, but despite showing signs of improvement, she passed away over the weekend.

Analee revealed her daughter's tragic passing on social media as she wrote: "It's with a very heavy heartbroken ripped apart heart I write this status.

"After nine months of pregnancy and six months, three weeks and one day of life, my precious wee angel lost her battle and gained her beautiful angel wings.

"After being sent home from the hospital again, May Rose passed away within 15 minutes of getting home.

"You made me a better person May Rose, yo u 're my hero! I'll miss you always my wee princess, sleep tight mama's girl. I love you May Rose."
