Prince Harry meets Newtownhamilton High School pupil. thumbnail Dylan McGurgan received his school’s specially framed peace pledge from the Prince and Dr Christopher Moran, chairman of Co-operation Ireland.

ONE lucky pupil from Newtownhamilton High School met Prince Harry recently at an event to celebrate the work of Co-operation Ireland and officially launch Year two of Co-operation Ireland's Amazing The Space programme.

Newtownhamilton High School took part in the first year of the programme, during which pupils developed a peace statement that they pledged to live out.

Dylan McGurgan received his school's specially framed peace pledge from the Prince and Dr Christopher Moran, chairman of Co-operation Ireland.

During his first official visit to Northern Ireland on Thursday, September 7, Prince Harry took time to speak to many of the young people involved in Co-operation Ireland's prog ramme Co-operation Ireland Chief Executive Peter Sheridan said: "This is a new generation of royals speaking to a new generation of young people.

"During the walkabout at the MAC Theatre, Prince Harry engaged with all the young people who had gathered and he was keen to see how Co-operation Ireland's programme had impacted on their lives.

"He also spoke passionately and powerfully to the young people about having the courage to take the lead in peace-building in their own communities."
