THE former Caledon Arms Hotel is up for sale.

The listed premises, which are located on the village's Main Street, is being sold by property firm Whelan.

No price tag has been attached for the "substantial listed premises situated adjacent to the former courthouse in Caledon", with the listing instead simply described as "open to offers".

According to listing, the original front block of the building dates from around 1830 with more recent extensions added at the rear.

"The two-storey block fronting is constructed in limestone stone walls and a pitched slate roof," reads the description.

"The extensions are a mixture of stone with pitched slate of flat felted roof coverings.

"Internally the building is laid out over basement and two upper floors and are now vacant having previously been used as a public house up until about two years ago and prior to that, a hotel.

"The original internal areas to the front of the building are largely unchanged and provide a bar and lounge areas with function rooms and a kitchen area to the rear." The listing also advises that prospective buyers have an opportunity to develop a hotel/bed and breakfast business or convert the large period building to residential use.
