LOUGHGALL continue to prepare for next season after announcing the arrivals of midfielders David McCullough and Jordan Gibson.
McCullough has signed from Portadown after turning down a new deal to remain at Shamrock Park, whilst Gibson makes the move from relegated Lurgan Celtic.
Both players have been long-term targets for manager Dean Smith and he admits he is 'over the moon' to get the two midfielders signed for next season.
“I have known David for a long time and it was my main aim to bring him on board," Smith said.
“He comes with a lot of experience after playing in the top flight with Ards and Dungannon Swifts, so we can't turn down a player of his calibre.
“We know what Davy will bring both on and off the pitch and I'm sure he will help the younger players.
“Davy can play in a number of positions so that versatility will be a real asset for us. He is relishing playing here and we are delighted to bring him to Lakeview Park."
Gibson also caught the attentions of Smith and he believes his physical qualities will be a major advantage for next season's Bluefin Sport Championship campaign.
“Jordan is a big six foot four midfielder who gives us plenty of physicality for next season," Smith added.
“It would be remiss of me to say that's all he will bring because he is a very good footballer.
“He has a great eye for a pass, can tackle, can run forward with the ball and that will be a big plus for us.
“He was struggling last season at Lurgan Celtic but I didn't have to think twice about getting his signature.
“Both players were on my shortlist and I'm over the moon that both lads have put pen-to-paper."
In a further boost for the Villagers, attacker Nathaniel Ferris has made his move permanent after joining on loan from Dungannon Swifts in January.
The striker has been a revelation since arriving and has formed a great partnership with Gary Liggett in the Bluebirds attack.
“We are happy that Nathaniel has decided to stay here after enjoying his loan spell," Smith continued.
“It is great to have him on board and everyone here is fond of him."
After almost agreeing new contracts with all members of the first-team squad, captain Steven Ferguson was the latest to sign on for next season.
The midfielder had been pondering his future but has signed on for the 2018/19 season.
"Fergy was one of the last boys to sign on and we respect that," Smith concluded.
“We are just thankful he is giving it another go as he is an important member of the squad."
