A local politician has expressed his frustration after parts of a Richhill pavement and road were dug up last week.
Alderman Jim Speers was speaking after a section of the village's newly completed environmental improvement scheme was dug up and left with a coating of tar.
“It looks like a utilities company has come in to do some work and left the road and pavement in this state," said Mr Speers.
“It is very disappointing to see this happening so soon after Phase One of Richhill's Environmental Improvement Scheme was completed last July.
“It looks like the new kerbs, the new pavement and a section of the road itself have all been affected.
“I will be working very closely with the relevant authorities to ensure this area is returned to the state it was found in."
Mr Speers said he was unsure why the road had to be dug up in the first place but vowed to get to the bottom of the problem.
“It's too soon to be in a position to say this work should have been carried out last July when the scheme was underway but I will make sure this area is returned to the way it was at the end of the scheme."
