Armagh ready for title tilt

Thursday, 5 January 2017

CITY of Armagh 1st XV pushed themselves into SONI Ulster Rugby Premiership title contention after a stunning 52-14 win over Ballynahinch at the Palace Grounds on New Year's Eve.

The Cathedral City side ran in seven tries against an under-strength 'Hinch, while 19 year old out-half Cormac Fox stole the show with a personal tally of 17 points from the kicking tee.

And with just two games remaining in the league, the title race is set for a mouthwatering conclusion.
Banbridge, Ballynahinch, Ballymena and Armagh are all locked on 10 points in the top four.

Armagh have a home tie against basement side City of Derry this Saturday at 2.30pm and conclude their campaign with a trip to Ballymena on Saturday, January 14 where they could possibly secure their first ever Ulster Senior League title.
