TWO Armachians were honoured after recently being presented with Maundy Money at York Minster.
The money is distributed to selected individuals in recognition of their work in the church and community.
The presentations this year by King Charles III and Queen Camilla took place on Maundy Thursday, which this year fell on April 6.
Mr Brian Gilbert and Mrs Zena Dawson, who attended the Service in York Minster, each received the award.
Zena was recognised for service to her community as principal of Kingsmills Primary School, Child Protection Officer for the Boys Choir in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh, and for her volunteer work in the Armagh Robinson Library.
Brian was recognised for his life-long service to youth work in the Methodist Church and, more lately, his leadership of ‘Young at Heart Clubs’ for older folks. He has been a local Christian Aid Treasurer and the manager of the Orchard Credit Union in Armagh.
