DRUMDERG Band and Lodge will host their annual Festival of Remembrance this Saturday night, 28th October.

It starts at 7.30pm in the larger venue of Armagh Orange Hall.

This year’s Remembrance concert follows on from their successful Banner Mission and Remembrance Concert in 2021 and 2022.

Advance tickets are available from any band or lodge member priced £10 per adult and £3 per child or a “pay at the door” option will be available on the evening.

The Royal British Legion will also have a donation box and poppies at the door for this year’s Poppy Appeal.

Well known Independent councillor Paul Berry from Tandragee will compère the evening as well as sing a few World War songs.

Alderman Berry will introduce a plethora of visiting and local talent; one of them being the excellent and well travelled Ballymena outfit, Kellswater Flute Band which will feature their very own talented solo violinist Rachel Lutton.

A spokesperson for Drumderg said, “We are very grateful to all our performers and are delighted to have them in place.

“We also welcome Kellswater for their inaugural visit to Armagh for this year’s Festival of Remembrance, the band has just recently performed at Belfast’s SSE Arena and participated in London’s Lord Mayor Show in 2022, that in itself demonstrates the calibre of musicality, poignancy and reflection they will bring to our event.”

They will be joined on the evening by well known and popular Dungannon soloist Mrs Wendy Coleman.

Wendy has performed right across the province at Remembrance and Gospel concerts and sang in Market Square Dungannon in 2022 for the District’s Remembrance evening as a mark of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Keady District Choir will also take part in the event which will specifically mark the Fallen 43 Soldiers of Keady District during the world wars.

Up and coming solo drummer Sam Strain will demonstrate his snare drumming skills.

The evening will conclude with host band Drumderg Loyalists, celebrating their Centennial Anniversary this year, and an Act of Remembrance conducted by Deputy County Chaplain Reverend Bro, Graham Middleton assisted by Solo Piper Alan Paynter.

We will remember them!

Admission is Adults £10, Children £3. For tickets private message Drumderg Flute Band facebook page, e-mail Drumderg1923@gmail.com or contact any band or lodge member or pay at the door.
