Businesses hit by blaze in Armagh

A number of business premises and flats have been badly damaged in a fire in Armagh City this afternoon (Sunday, July 21).

The fire broke out at the business complex on the Killylea Road, with police, fire and rescue service and ambulance crews on the scene.

It's understood there were no injuries reported during the incident.

Businesses affected were Cordelia's takeaway, the Golden Village Takeaway the Wine Label Off Licence and a tanning salon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Police said, "Due to a fire at the Killylea Road area of Armagh this afternoon, Sunday 21st July, motorists are advised to avoid the area.

"Colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service are in attendance and motorists should seek alternative routes."
