Whilst plans are still underway for this year’s team, it is highly likely that they will be engaged in such activities as teaching English, organising craft sessions with children from slums and anything that can help encourage and inspire young people from disadvantaged circumstances
Similarly, Adam Donnelly, Katie Megarity, Laura Rountree, Katie Dickson and Thomas Stewart, along with the Rector, Rev Malcolm Kingston, will travel to Comanesti in Romania as part of a Diocesan Team with Habitat for Humanity to help build and decorate homes for those living in overcrowded situations.
Said Rev Kingston: “Habitat for Humanity is wonderful global Christian organisation whose vision is for ‘A world where everyone has a decent place to live’.
“These trips will undoubtedly be life-changing experiences for our young people and we are delighted that they have offered to serve on these teams.
“To travel to India and Romania, participants each have to raise significant funds. Fundraising events have already included a Gaming Night and a very successful Big Breakfast! Proceeds from the concert will further aid their fundraising.”
