13 year old Armagh art Queen Fiadhna reigns above all else

FOR those who want the visage of their favourite musical artists forever encapsulated through the medium of art you need look no further than the services provided by Armagh teenager Fiadhna McManus.

  Miss McManus, who despite only being in her 13th year has developed skills with the pen and brush which would be envied by even the most seasoned of sketchers, has taken it upon herself this summer to draw bespoke portraits for purchase.

These include vividly realistic renditions of famous musicians ranging from the absolute royalty  of 80s rock and pop such as Queen guitarist Brian May alongside his   classical contemporaries  The Cure and David Bowie. 

Whilst Fiadhna’s skills with the pallet and canvas could be described as nothing less than exemplary, according to her mother Michelle they are talents which she has taken to the highest level through her own grit and determination.

“Fiadhna always had a talent of art and she always loved drawing.” said Michelle. “Always from primary school she has always loved drawing.

“She also loves music, The Beatles, Queen although she can pretty much draw anything. However, she loves drawing the bands.

“She draws in charcoal and pencil. She just wanted to do something over the summer holidays and she wanted to do something to make herself a bit of money.

“ She took it into her head that she wanted to do something and this is what she said she would do. She has always been good at the drawing so I told her to give it a go.

“She has already started doing a few drawings for people. She is taking her time but we have had a lot of people commenting. She has been contacted by a lady from Monaghan looking a drawing done for her. She doesn't  get her talent from me, I honestly don't know where she gets her talents from as my husband and I are not drawers.

“She doesn't think she is good but I am showing her all these comments from people and she is really talented. She is going to do her GCSE in art in school.”
