A STALWART of the Order of Malta in Armagh has passed away, the organisation announced this evening (Wednesday, 6 August).
A spokesperson for the Order of Malta Ireland said, “Just over two months ago we celebrated Comdr. Gerry Gribbon KM MBE's extraordinary seven decades of unbroken service to the mission of The Order of Malta in Ireland.
“Today we share the sad news that earlier today Comdr. Gribbon returned to his Heavenly Father.
“At the beginning of this year Gerry Gribbon KM, was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to the community in Armagh
”At the time he said his guiding principle was to: ‘Forget about self and concentrate on others.’
“Comdr. Gribbon KM MBE, one of Order of Malta Ireland's longest serving members, has left a lasting legacy behind in the Northern region and across Ireland. His legacy lives on in the younger members he has supported and taught over the years.”
