CROSSMAGLEN Rangers have recently announced a new management team for the 2018 season.

The four man team will be headed up by former stalwart player and manager, Donal Murtagh.

Donal steered cross to three Ulster titles (2006, 07, 08) and in 2007 Donal’s team also lifted the All-Ireland club title, via a replay win over Dr Crokes, Kerry. In 2009, Donal stepped down in the wake of their shock first round defeat to Pearse Og, who went on to lift the 2009 title.

This season Donal was in charge of Cross Seconds, who gained promotion to the Intermediate 'B’ League as winners of the Junior League.

Joining Donal in the new Senior manager team will be Kieran Donnelly, Francis Fitzpatrick and Miceal Moley. Kieran Donnelly led Cross U-21s to the 2017 Armagh U-21 title just two weeks ago after beating Killeavy 1-14 to 1-7 in the County U-21 final. Francis and Miceal have been involved in coaching throughout the club for many years.

Donal will be a strong, committed and determined manager, endorsed by Paddy O’Rourke taking Donal in as his assistant during his management tenure with Armagh. Cross as a club will have confidence in Donal’s ability to bring Cross back to the top table of gaelic football.
